Mens Club

Currently, we have twenty-seven registered members in the Holy Cross Men’s Club. We usually meet every third Thursday of the month, unless special activities dictate otherwise.

Along with the service component of our club we try to retain a friendly and social atmosphere of fellowship. To maintain a spiritual focus we reflect on a scriptural reference at each of our monthly meetings. Through a caring environment our members continue to provide services and activities for the betterment of our parish.

The following are some of the services and activities that our club has been involved with:

1. Bar Service: All bar services are coordinated by the bar manager who reports to the Men’s Club.



2. Yard maintenance: Our members are always available to assist in yard maintenance projects.



3. Special project assistance: We coordinate the parking attendants for special events, set-up tables and chairs for perogies suppers, assist with the floor preparation and waxing of all linoleum floor surfaces, and other “behind the scenes” projects.



4. Fundraising: The Men’s Club has been the annual sponsor of the Grey Cup Ticket Raffle.



5. Charity: We made an annual donation to the Meals on Wheels program. As well, support is given to the Shoe Box project that is undertaken by the parish.



6. Golf: We attempt to host an annual golf tournament for the parishioners and their friends. Also, we make arrangements for parish membership golfing at the Lakeshore golf course. Many members enjoyed golfing and fellowship on Monday evenings.



7. Christmas Activities: Every year our club undertakes to decorate the front of the church with strings of beautiful Christmas lights. Each year our club purchases and prepares the Christmas treat bags for the children of the parish.

The Men’s Club is a viable and caring organization that takes pride and helping in many areas of our parish. We encourage and invite all men to consider joining us for healthy fellowship in a Christian caring community.
